cruiseaholic926 Posted April 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2007 Can anybody tell me if it rains in the caribbean in hurricane season preferably (August) does it rain all day or is it usually just a shower. I am nervous now, as I just booked a cruise for 30 people in August and a week before in Disney and just been told that's the rainy season. Thanks for any help to make me feel better. SailingDeanna Posted April 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2007 Most of the time the rain comes and goes quickly. Not always. One time when I was in Cozumel it rained the whole day in September. But generally it will pour and then go away. I always buy cheap pocket sized rain coats from the dollar store and carry them on the islands. It has been a lifesaver many times. I always sail in September.
goneclear Posted April 23, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2007 January to June is dry season and July to December is rainy season. Having said that it does not mean it rains every day in rainy season just that the chance of rain is higher. It is very normal to have clear hot sunny days during rainy season. The one thing is the water in the caribbean is clearer during the dry season. This is so because the run off from all the islands makes the water a little more cloudy during rainy season but if you are not use to it you may not even notice. Hope I have been helpfull.
