10-Day Baltics - Question on Disembarkation

According to the 10-day itinerary for the Star Princess, we return to Copenhagen at 1:00pm on day 10. We have an overnight on the ship in Copenhagen before disembarking on day 11. The itinerary has day 11 "arrival" as 5:00am. Here are my questions:

1. Does the ship go through customs/immigration when it arrives into Copenhagen on day 10?

2. If so, would disembarkation on day 11 be "easier" if we need to catch an 11am flight (and thus need early/self/walk-off disembarkation around 7am)?

Thank you!

We were on this cruise last year. This ship arrives in Copenhagen in the early afternoon on day 10, where you can get of the ship to tour around Copenahgen etc. On day 11, if you have independent travel to the airport (much cheaper than Princess transfers) by taxi or your own arrangement you can get off the ship pick up your luggage and go. I don't remember what is the earliest time you can get off the ship as we were planing to spend some time touring in the area so we were in no hurry to get off the ship. I think it was fairly early though. This is a great cruise, you will enjoy it.

Hi,

1. The ship undergoes customs and immigration formalities when it arrives in Copenhagen on Day 10. Passengers however are not required to attend any formalities. This means that you are free to leave the ship at any time after the formalities have been completed (usually less than 15 minutes after arrival)

2. If you are concerned about catching an early flight on Day 11 just let the pursers desk know of your details and they will ensure that you have a smooth disembarkation with plenty of time to catch your flight, regardless of how early this may be.

This of course only applies to cruises that have the overnight in Copenhagen.

By the way, for those of you booked on the cruises that do not overnight in Copenhagen I would strongly advise you to book the Princess airport transfer as the lines for taxis can be extremely lengthy.

Depending you where you are coming from last port ahead of Copenhagen:

Ports in Schengen-Zone and EU = immigration / customs already done before arrival in Copenhagen (like Warnemünde, Amsterdam, Stockholm or Helsinki)

Ports in Schengen-Zone but no EU = immigration already done before arrival in Copenhagen (like Oslo or UK ports)

Ports in Extra-Schengen-Zone but EU = customs already done before arrival in Copenhagen (like Tallinn or Riga)

Ports in Extra-Schengen-Zone and Non-EU = nothing done before - immigration / customs to be done upon entry to Copenhagen on day 10 (like St. Petersburg or Kaliningrad)

So if your ship is coming from Warnemünde once it arrives in Copenhagen there should be normally nothing anymore!!!
