birdsfly Posted April 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2007 Is there a possibility of getting a taxi that would be able to transport our toddler with us from the airport to the pier? We won't be bringing the carseat with us because we won't be taking any other car/taxi rides. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.... cruiseluv Posted April 30, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2007 Hi, I don't know the answer but I suggest you send an e-mail to Barcelona Taxi barcelonataxi@barcelonataxivan.com I used their services last year and they were very professional. They responded to my e-mails promptly. I wouldn't be surprised if they can provide a car seat.
CruisinGerman Posted April 30, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2007 About a year ago, they changed the rules of the road throughout all of Spain to make it mandatory to wear seatbelts in the back seat and to transfer infants in carseats. At first it wasn't clear whether taxis either had to have the carseats or whether they were exempt from the rule, so the taxis refused to carry infants. I believe it has been straightened out and clarified one way or the other (although I don't remember which -- whether the taxis are exempt from the rule or whether they all have to have carseats in their trunk). If you call or e-mail the radio taxi service in Barcelona, they will make sure you are picked up with a carseat. Kind regards, Gunther and Uta
