arcone Posted June 15, 2007 #176 Share Posted June 15, 2007 We are sailing on the legend in November. How does it compare to any of the following ships which we have already cruise on. Carnival Celebration, Carnival Victory, Carnival Spirit, and Carnival Conquest ? Also I just check my past cruise history I almost postive I have sailed on the Conquest twice once with my husband and a different sailing it was with my sister. Carnival only posted one sailing on the Conquest. Do I get credit for both sailings? Who should I contact? Thanks
Redsoxfan11 Posted June 15, 2007 #177 Share Posted June 15, 2007 I've been a long time lurker here and finally registered tonight. We are going to be on the Legend on 6/24 for our 25th anniversary which is 6/26. I have been on other Carnival Cruises but this will be our first time on the Legend. :D
scubacindy Posted June 15, 2007 #178 Share Posted June 15, 2007 arcone, My records with Carnival are not accurate either, yes you should get credit for sailing twice on the same ship. But, that said I did not get credit for my trip on the Imagination nor did my MIL. I think that is my TA's fault for how she booked the whole block of cabins for our group. The Purser's desk tried to help me but, unless I could present proof to her from that cruise could not be added. She said a photo with Carnivals logo, the ship and time date on it would work. Of course I did not have any of that with me. Funny thing she found when looking me up in their computer, they had my husband down for a cruise in 2000. I had to really laugh at that since he would never go on a cruise alone, because I am the one that does all the planning, booking etc. He as a matter of fact would probably never take any vacation, just not one to stop and think of those things. He is not the cruise fanatic I am either, but will go if I tell him we are going.
MelBCroozer Posted June 15, 2007 #179 Share Posted June 15, 2007 RedSoxfan11 We have a group going on the Legend 6/24. My DH and I will be celebrating our 22nd anniversary on the 29th. We have a Roll Call going for this cruise you might want to check out. I too was short a couple of cruises since they were before they kept computer records ('85 & '87). I e-mailed Carnival and they told me what I had to show and where to send it. I made copies of proof I was on the cruises, such as embarkation picture, boading pass/tickets,etc. I mailed them to Carnival and they credited my cruise history. This cruise will be our 10th and we are now Platinum members!!
GApeachcruiser Posted June 21, 2007 #180 Share Posted June 21, 2007 First of all, thank you so much for this Legend only Questions thread! This has really offered so much helpful information! We are cruising July 15th and I am so excited! :D Legends 5.6.7...I think I read earlier that ya'll planned a really great CC get together! We have a roll call going on and we have planned to get together at the Unicorn Bar on Sailaway Day at 2:30 p.m. and then again at the Unicorn Bar on our first full Sea Day at 11:30. Are these good times/places to meet and mingle? If not, could you offer your experienced cruiser thoughts? Anyone travelled with an under two? Our whole family is going, including our one year old son. I have seen the Capers and read that there is babysitting, but the times are kind of ambiguous. Sometimes you can go with the under twos to play, but then when are the babysitting hours on sea days? Do they do in cabin babysitting? Are high chairs easy to come by in the buffet areas? Anyone stayed in room 8121 or 8119? I think those were some of the rooms still available. Just curious. They appear to be under the spa. Cave Tubing...How strenuous is cave tubing? We have a father recovering from chemo/radiation/surgery about half a year ago and does not feel quite up to par and a first trimester preggo, too. The website reads like this is a float down the river, but I just thought I would ask. Are there teen theme nights? We had a member of our CC group asking. Thank you so much! randles Posted June 22, 2007 #181 Share Posted June 22, 2007 I am sailing on the 6/24 Western too. We have several restaurant people in our group. They are wondering if there is a kitchen tour on the Legend - they would love to see it.
nmyorkiemom Posted June 22, 2007 #182 Share Posted June 22, 2007 There was a Galley tour - I didn't make it, but sure wanted to! I think it was on Saturday afternoon. As for Teen themes, DD15 spent most of her time in Club 02. I recently posted the schedule in another thread on here....somewhere. There were no themes, other than they went to the Bathrobes party. michelle2 Posted June 22, 2007 #183 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Cave Tubing...How strenuous is cave tubing? We have a father recovering from chemo/radiation/surgery about half a year ago and does not feel quite up to par and a first trimester preggo, too. The website reads like this is a float down the river, but I just thought I would ask. I was on the Legend June 10. We booked the cave tubbing independently and had a great time. I would say it is a little strenuous. The floating of course is no work, but in order to get to the floating part you have about a 1/2 hour walk through the jungle. There is some uphill. The humidity and having to carry your tube and life vest add to the difficulty. My family was all fine (daughters 9 and 12), but some people were really sweating and breathing hard. The excursion was really fun. I recommend it. It is something unique.
bacm Posted June 22, 2007 #184 Share Posted June 22, 2007 I fell that cave tubing is not overly strenuous, but I would not suggest it for anyone who is pregnant or not feeling up to par. Even though most of it is floating in the water there is some carrying, walking and jumping off of a ledge into the water.
randles Posted June 22, 2007 #185 Share Posted June 22, 2007 thanks nmyorkiemom -- they will love it.
KelliKevin Posted June 22, 2007 #186 Share Posted June 22, 2007 We had a first trimester person in our group and she was not allowed to go Cave Tubing. Probably not a good idea. There was one other theme on our Legend Cruise...there was a 70's type day... I just sent my capers into CruiseDailies and they should be posted there soon
bthorn1108 Posted June 22, 2007 #187 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Fee for service babysitting is available in Camp Carnival from 10:00 pm until 2:00 am. Otherwise, your child is to young to be left at Camp Carnival. In cabin babysitting is not available. While I would not consider cave tubing strenuous, I would not recommend it for a pregnant woman, regardless of how far along she is. It can get very hot and humid and there are areas on the walk through the rainforest that can become VERY slippery. While I have never fallen, I have slipped several times and I wouldn't want to take the chance if pregnant.
amanda1070 Posted June 22, 2007 #188 Share Posted June 22, 2007 Wow! this is a wonderful thread! We are sailing in Nov. with three teens. What activities should we not miss! And what excursions should we book?
Dannzzigg Posted June 23, 2007 #189 Share Posted June 23, 2007 Will be in 6184 for our Dec 09, 2007 cruise. On the Deck Plan, I can clearly see that the elevators will be close to the room, but there is also something else further forward. What exactly is that? Stairs? And if anyone has stayed in such close proximity to the stairs (if that's what they are) and elevators, has noise been an issue for you?
Roni3 Posted June 23, 2007 #190 Share Posted June 23, 2007 I just booked a cruise on the Legend sailing December 30. My dh, ds, and I are going with my parents, my sister, and her daughter. This is the first cruise for them but the third for us. I'm just wondering if this is a good choice for taking first-timers. We cruised the Triumph over the holidays last year and had a wonderful time. How does this ship compare. I also am wondering if there are any suggestions as to where to stay in Tampa one or two nights prior to the cruise.:o

nmyorkiemom Posted June 23, 2007 #192 Share Posted June 23, 2007 Dining times for us 6/3-10, were 5:45 & 8. Can't say how this compares to Triumph, but it was our first crusie & we all loved it!

dgack1 Posted June 24, 2007 #195 Share Posted June 24, 2007 Anyone with an opinion (maybe tom and Cheryl)....How are the bars/clubs at night? We have done this itinerary on the Miracle in the past. We enjoyed the ports, but the night life was DEAD...All the bars were empty by 11:30-12:00. In contrast, the Valor was hopping at all hours...dance club, piano bar, live band ect. We are trying to decide between the Valor or Legend. The Legend is closer to us and is more affordable, but we do not want a repeat of the "Miracle experience" as far as nightlife. If anyone can compare the two, please let me know....Thanks:p

Seturtle131 Posted June 25, 2007 #197 Share Posted June 25, 2007 My husband and I will be sailing on the Legend September 30th, and have booked cave tubing in Belize through an independent company. When I made my reservation, they said to take the early tender off the ship. Does anyone who has sailed on the Legend know how early I need to get in line for the early tender? Thanks in advance! deenie Posted June 25, 2007 #198 Share Posted June 25, 2007 Question on room choices for the Legend...I am planning a honeymoon cruise what rooms or parts of the ship would you recommend or avoid? We are looking at either a balcony or suite room? Any suggestions?
SCGirl3211 Posted June 28, 2007 #199 Share Posted June 28, 2007 Does anyone know which pier the ship docks at in Cozumel? I understand there is a difference of several miles between piers? Also, what is the opinions of using local currency (pesos or Belizian dollars) in each port vs. US dollars? Thanks to everyone who responds. I have learned so much from these boards and especially this Legend thread. We leave 9/16...can't wait. While I'm at it...anyone stay in Cabins 4176 or 4178?
