Shareholder benefits on Azamara

I just read on either Celebrity or RCCI website that the Shareholder benefit does not include cruises on Journey, Quest or Xpedition.

But, you contacted Celebrity and they're giving you the benefit??

That'll be fantastic!!

We've had ours for some time since we migrated from Zenith to Journey on the first go round. There was never a question that we'd have it for Journey. Don't see how they could say otherwise since they are all under the RCL umbrella and that's the stock....

Is there a minimun # of shares you must own ? And How much is the credit ? Do you know if other lines offer shareholder credit ?

Hi Eaglewar !

In order to get the shareholder benefits on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity, you must own at least 100 shares of Royal Caribbean. You can read more about the benefits here :

As for whether you get the shareholder benefit on Azamara, my understanding is you will. Being that some have questioned it, I have an email in to Celebrity just to make sure Azamara is currently included.

I believe Carnival also offers a benefit to shareholders as well. I hope this helps !

Well, I went back and double-checked on the shareholder benefit. This got my attention because in the beginning of the whole Journey / Quest acquisition, they were being referred to as part of the "expedition" fleet. ( I don't know if this was ever actually "official" from X though).

Here's an excerpt from the official RCI statement:

.Are there any restrictions? Valid only for cruise vacations on Royal Caribbean International or Celebrity Cruises. Not applicable to Celebrity Xpeditions. Offer is non-transferable and not available to company employees, travel agents, inter-line rates, tour conductors, and/or others utilizing complimentary or reduced rate cruise fares.

However, now we know, officially they are not part of the expidition fleet. So maybe they are considered part of the Celebrity fleet for this perk....?

Glad to hear you've got your OBC on Journey - makes me feel better. It is a nice perk :)

Hi Everyone !

I asked the question, and was told the shareholder benefit applies to Journey and Quest. Of course, you cant hold me to it :). I also had it applied to my Quest booking. At this point... we should be fine. I hope that puts this question to rest.

We also have a Quest booking in January and have had both on obard Booking Credits and Shareholder Credits since February.

Any one know how credits towards the Captain's Club are going to be applied (or not)?

Hi Ed !

I asked the question. I was told it would be the same Captains Club account that we currently have, and credits will be applied the same way as on Celebrity. I hope that helps.

Thanks Andy, thought ( hoped) it would be that way seeing how much controversy Celebrity has created with "benefits" in recent months.

What really excites me is the more stringent smoking policies; that will certainly make our cruise more pleasant since it should reduce exposure.

A few more questions - what is the approx current price of RC stock?

Also, it sounds like the amount of shareholder credit you get is similar to the amounts for onboard booking -is this correct?

Lastly, can both shareholder and onboard booking credits be applied to the same cruise?

Thanks!

Hi PsCruiser

Royal Caribbean stock is is aprox 42.79 per share as of Friday. The shareholder perk is not quite as generous as it used to be, as Celebrity recently downgraded that perk. However, it is still a nice bonus. Last question... YES ! the shareholder and onboard booking credits can be combined. I hope that helps. Good Luck !

I know this thread is not for Carnival but the question about shareholder credit was here.

The appropriate RCCL numbers are:

14 nights or longer= $250

9-13 nights= $200

6-8 nights= $100

5 nights or less= $50.

The on-board credits have been the subject of a bit on controversy; there are several threads on the main Celebrity Cruises Board which might be of some interest to you. Basically, my understanding is that the on-board Booking Credit has changed from one where the benefit was determined by the length of the cruise, to one which is based on the cost of the cruise.

Search the aforementioned Celebrity Board for more details and comments.
