Mosquitos

I just read a travel guide that said the mosquitos in Belize can carry some pretty scary diseases (malaria & Dengue fever). Has anyone ever had a problem with getting sick from a mosquito bite?

This is very common within the tropics including Mexico. Use a repellent. FYI: you will not be allowed to donate blood for one year after returning from your trip to Central America as well. You will be fine as long as you use common sense. There is no need to panic.

Thanks...we aren't in panic mode :) ..We have a family member with MS & another with Crohn's disease, because of these auto immune diseases they have to be more careful when traveling. I was just doing my homework for them.
