pearl room 15500-A2

Recommended Posts

I have a number of questions about Room 15500 (A2) on the pearl to alaska.

1. how much do the butlers cringe when you order room service since they have to walk up the stairs?? We love to order breakfast on the balcony each morning.

2. the floor plans in the brochures and on line are a bit confusing(at least to me) for the A2 cabin. Is there a front balcony as well as side or does it wrap around?

Also, are you able to sit on the balcony and have a clear view/stand and have the rail chest high or is it glass all the way up like on the Dawn's garden villa??

3. On the floor plan what is the blue rectangular area just behind where it says "villa private sundeck" then in back of that it shows a thin strip with four more deck chairs. -what is that for?

4. is there a hot tub on the balcony of A2??

5. is there an actual door between the bedroom and living room?

6. is the staircase creepy to walk up late at night??

7. carrying our over packed and clearly too heavy luggage up the stairs will be reason to overtip whoever gets stuck with that task right from the start.

8. does any one have pix/layout of this room or 15000 or even a virtual tour???

thanks.

I was in A2 cabin 15000 on the May 13th Alaska cruise. I found the cabin small an dbalcony huge and for anything but Alaska I would choose the AA Owner's suite instead... However for Alaska the view from here is sensational!

The bedroom/living room is one big area no divider (I didn't liek that). There is a curtain between that area and the dressing area. THe dressing area has a small mirror area and also where the hair dryer is located. CLothes hanger and two sets of drawers (really enough space) and the safe. There is also a pant press I did not use.

The bathroom has separate tub on right sidde of bathroom and shower stall with very nice shower sprays all over. The toilet has it's own chamber with telephone. Shower and toiler area have glass doors. There is double sink in bathroom and flat screen TV above tub. It is not a jacuzzi tub.

The steps were not bothersome, we are young! No problems every with ordering in! When you walk through the door to the right is the bar area with coffee/espresso machine (we always used for coffee just awesome!), mini fridge that is fully stocked entire cruise with milk, juice, water, pop whatever you want and is all free in this cabin. There are plenty of glasses and coffee mugs. Just off this area is the couch an dtwo chairs and ottamon and flat screen TV... Kind of diaganal is the bed, very large and comfy with two night stands on either side. A phone is on the one night stand.

There are floor to ceiling windows that overlook the pool deck and straight out for great view.

THere is a WAY to SMALL table with two chairs just beyond the couch... I thought it was too small and tacky and all other cabins had nicer dining areas. There is a desk on the right side of room before balcony and is stocked with binoculars! There is a corcless phone there that is handy to take around the ship from calls from friends for if you need to call the concierge... we took it on tours and called concierge on way on ship for dinner reservation to be ready when we got there!

The balcony is large with plenty of chairs and a table. There is a jacuzzi on it and private to you.. ours was broken for two days though! Great views of Glacier Bay. When ship is really moving it is windy, but was fine for Glacier Bay.

The best way to get to the suite is mid ship elevators and you use your key card to deck 14 adn then key card to get to stairwell and then hike it up. When friends wanted to come over we had them meet us at Cagney's on deck 12 and they called from the courtesy phone and we went and got them. I was able to get an extra key made for my sister so I didn't have to escort her all the time.

We did not utilize the special courtyard villa area with pool and exercise equipment on deck 14 as we had no need for it.

We did like dining at Cagney's for lunches and breakfasts... we also ordered in. Called from our handy room cell phone from the casino and had dessert waiting upon our return!

All phones have caller ID too which is great!

Hope this helps, ask away with any other questions!

Hello, becauseisaid! When are you cruising to Alaska? We're booked in this same Deluxe Owner's Suite (#15500) for our June 17th cruise and we'll be taking lots of pictures!

I've also been searching for some pictures of this particular suite but so far have been unsuccessful. I do have some of 15000 which I understand is almost the same.

If you want to post your email address, I'd be glad to forward the pictures I have. dodge9 has been most helpful is providing lots of info on the Deluxe Owner's Suite!

thank you so much for the information.

We will have our 3 kids on the ship with us, but they will be on deck 11-i think. We like to have breakfast as a family each morning and I worried that the butler would want to quit after carrying up breakfast for 5 up the stairs each morning. I saw a picture of what they called the dining table and you are right-it is much smaller than any of the other rooms we have stayed in.

We will try to make sure the deck 11 room is midship by the elevator if possible. I guess we will ask to get them keys so that they can let themselves up.

did you feel that you missed using the courtyard area or was having a bigger balcony better(even in alaska?)

I am thinking the butler may have a dummy elevator... they have a little room area up the stairs of the suite... I am sure they are used to bringing lots of stuff to these rooms!

I would definitely get extra keys made for your kids... Alex the conceirge took care of that for us... it will be a necessity since they can't access your floor without a key card!

I think if you were on a Caribbean cruise you would utilize the courtyard area more. Our view was sensational with no need to leave our balcony!

We had over 40 people in our room for Glacier Bay viewing!

There will be no space for breakfast for 5 in your room and it will be as well unfair to your Butler! Be aware that your children are NOT allowed to use the Courtyard facilities, since they are not booked up there. Just think everybody would get friends & family up there...it would be too crowded and not fair to the Guests who paid for the luxury being up there.

For sure you can have them in your privacy of your Suite!

The table is too small... but we had four of us in for breakfast and made do with the sofa area and table there and the small table. My butler had no issue with us and we tipped him accordingly.

I was in A2 #15000 for 9 day cruise out of Miami. It was by far my best cruise experience on NCl. The cabin is smaller than the AA Owners suites but the location, view and private hot tub was great. The butler service was superb, he was only glad to accommodate your every request as the steps never bothered him. The "Villa private sundeck" is adjacent to your patio but well concealed. It is accessable only from a staircase located in the pool area on deck 14. As for the steps to your suite, there are 19 steps up to your cabin. The staircase is wide and well lighted. Pictures of the suite were previously posted by someone that was on the initial voyage bringing the ship accross the Atlantic. I don't remember the posting.
