car seat needed for 2 yr old???

just wondering if we will want/need a car seat if we're flying into and out of new orleans. we fly in the same day so we'll need transportation to the port (still arranging this!) and then transportation back to the hotel then airport upon returning. does anyone know? we aren't renting a car so it'd be taking a shuttle or taxi and then mostly walking the one night we're in town. thanks in advance!

I wouldn't think so. In the cab, you'll be holding the child and using a seatbelt in the back seat, so I can't imagine traveler's having to lug a carseat around.
