Where to crash the day after?

Hi! Our family of eight will be on the Conquest on July 11th, thanks to all the helpful information on this forum, I have pretty much been able to arrange everything pre-cruise (like where the stay and what to do in NO) Now I am faced with the dilemna of what to do after we get back and before our flight leaves for home at 7pm...I want to rent a vehicle and do a little driving tour, but since I don't want to rent two separate vehicles and I can't find an eight passenger vehicle to rent from near the port, this won't work...My wife suggested we get a hotel room somewhere near the French Quarter, so some of us can just rest there while others go out for activities, but it seems all the hotels only allow you to check in later in the afternoon...anyone know of a "day" hotel where we can get a room or two for the morning and early afternoon?

well, today I called the Hilton riverside to book their cruise special, and guess what, they also have a day rate from 8am to 4pm at $55, so problem solved!
