Hello Modelman!

Your collection is great, must give you much pleasure. If, by any chance, you don't have a sentimental attachment to each of them, and.. you happen to have a "Song of America"...would you, perhaps, consider selling it to me? I'm loosing hope of getting one after searching for years on ebay. Sorry to ask, but you've got to try.

I unfortunately am not willing to sell any of the 1:1250 scale waterline models at this time, but interestingly I have another collection of ceramic cruise ship models, by a company called Passport Models. They used to have a model of the month club, and they are pretty nice models. They are not nearly as detailed as the metal models, but get a good impression of the ship across. I might be persuaded to sell some or all of these. I have Atlantic (Premier), Oceanic (Premier), Song of America, Song of Norway, Nordic Prince, Regent Sea, Regent Star, Bermuda Star, Veracruz, Celebration, Jubilee (or Holiday, I am not sure which), Crown del Mar, Crown Odyssey, Norway, Sovereign of the Seas, Stardancer, Emerald Seas and Americana. If anyone is interested in any of these collector's items, send me a PM

After I posted, I realized there is no Private Message function on this board, so if anyone is interested in one of the china models listed above, shoot me an email at thadconstantine@hotmail.com. Here are a few views of some of the models. They are fun, but not exceedingly realistic renderings of the ships themselves.

P.S. I forgot that the Caribe I and Homeric are in the collection, and also one of the models is definitely the Holiday, so the other is either the Celebration or Jubilee, not sure which it is I have, as they are exact sisters.

Hello Modelman,

I really appreciate your gesture there and it is very tempting to ask you for the Song of America, however, I think I had better keep on hoping for the match to the ones they sold onboard the ship. Again, you must be proud of your collection and I hope you have had as many happy cruises as you have momentos! All the best.....

I only have one ship, the Disney Magic ( I didn't feel the need to get one of the Wonder since they're basically the same ship), and I would like to get one of the RCI Sovereign of the Seas when I go in December. Is there a particular scale I should be looking for? I have no idea what scale the Disney on is, though I'd say she's about 8 or 9 inches long.

PS - if anyone needs to get one of the Sovereign, I'd be more than happy to pick one up for you when I go.

Hi,

The Sovereign was our first cruise and I never got a model (which I now collect). IF you could pick one up for me I would really appreciate it!

No problem at all. I live right by the port so I wouldn't need to worry about it getting damaged on the way home. Are you a local (C. Fla), or do I need to ship it?

I recommend emailing Alexander Scherbak and asking him about the Crown. I think that model is on his list of future models.. I have two of his 1:900 models, and three of the 1:1250 scale waterline models (Freedom, Millennium, and QM2). I really love the waterline ones.

those water line models are really nice...they give a good look at what the ship looked like when you saw her during your vacation. The ones sold on the ships arent bad, but I dont need all that stuff that goes on below the water line...I know it sounds silly

We are buying specifically ship models from the ships even though they aren't exact copies... But they did sail at sea. :)

Hi all,

I forgot to pick up a model of the RCCL Mariner of the Seas when I sailed on that ship. I've been checking eBay constantly since I sailed but none have come up. I looked at Scherbak Ship Models, but I really don't want to pay $150+ for a model. Is there any way I can still get a model. (I'm planning to go on the Freedom of the Seas for my next cruise).

Thank,

Mike S.

It's on Ebay now

Search "Cruise ship models"

You will see it for sale.

Thanks/Dave

The cruiselines (actually the ship's store as they are contractors onboard) cannot sell the ship model to you once you have left the ship. There are strict laws governing the sale of items in the Duty/Tax Free shops.

Ebay is one place. The second is to find a willing person to buy you one on their next cruise. We went through the same thing in deciding to start a collection after our third cruise. I am just lacking the NCL Sun but I will be going on her in February.

I have a model of the Fantasy on Ebay right now that is up to $51 with another day to go. (I knew I should have bought a couple of more when I was onboard)

I am definately going to start collecting them on board. I just checked Ebay for a Disney Magic model and the guy wants $30.00 shipping, so that would bring the total cost to over $70.00. I liked the cruise but not that much. I have an inflatable CCL ship, fun a tubby time:eek: just kidding, it's still in the package, really.

Not all models sold on board. We couldn't buy Celebrity Mercury, still can't find it anywhere :( .

We were thinking about using Century model (we had duplicates) and alter name on it. :D

I'm desperately looking to get the Marco Polo and the Pride of America ships. We sailed on them several years ago before we began collecting models. We've been able to get all the others, but just lack these two. I check ebay daily, but have been unsucessful for these 2. I'm most concerned about never getting the Marco Polo before she leaves Orient Lines for good! Anyone help out with either of these?

Also, we are going on the Crown Princess in Feb. Anyone need a model of her?

Let me know.

This may be a really stupid question, but since I never shopped for them, can you purchase other ship models on your ship? i.e. could I buy the Mariner of the Seas model on the Liberty of the Seas ship?

Just the model of the ship you are sailing on. I have one more to get to complete the collection of ships we have been on. I will be sailing on the Sun next month so I will be able to get it then.

When I was on the Triumph last May all of the model ships in the gift shop were broken and they did not have any more in stock. I offered them a lower price for a broken one but they wouldn't do it. I thought that I would just go back and pick one up on eBay, well, I have been watching eBay 8 months now. One finally came up a week or so ago but the seller did a Buy it now and it was gone before I could get to it.

If anyone is going on the Triumph and wouldn't mind picking one up for me I would be very appreciative!

Thanks,
