ISABELLA Posted September 5, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2007 I have booked a number of times guarantee in my cruising past, but never have to wait that long for a cabin #. We are leaving in 10 days and Princess "dragging their feet" on assingning cabins. How difficult is it? Is this their new policy? Anyone know? Does it happend to you? choochella Posted September 5, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 5, 2007 Last year, we did a guarantee. First time ever. We did not know our cabin until we got to the pier. Purchased an inside, got an outside. Not a bad upgrade. But, for the most part, I like knowing where I'm going to be. We normally always choose the same deck as the pool. Last year, that deck was totally booked. So, we chose the guarantee. From now on, we book early enough to get the deck we want. It seems Princess is still shuffling people around. Good luck and let us know what you got!
donna5 Posted September 6, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 6, 2007 When you book a guarentee you must know they may not give you a room # until the last minute. Maybe you should not book a guarentee if this bothers you so much.
Toto2Kansas Posted September 6, 2007 #7 Share Posted September 6, 2007 Some are assigned staterooms right after booking, others don't find out until they arrive at the pier, or any of those days between. Booking a guarantee means when you arrive at the ship, there will be a stateroom for you. Some get lucky and find out long before they arrive, others have to wait. I agree, for those that can't stand the suspense, book an assigned cabin, then you won't get as frustrated.
cherylandtk Posted September 6, 2007 #8 Share Posted September 6, 2007 If it makes you feel any better, those last minute assignments tend to be the ones that get offered some nice OBC in exchange for agreeing to a different category.
mpdahmer Posted September 6, 2007 #9 Share Posted September 6, 2007 I have heard of others getting their cabin assignments when they arrived at the ship to be happily surprised with a great upgrade. We booked a Guar. and got ours pretty quickly with a 2 Cat. upgrade. Good Luck
CaliforniaMama Posted September 6, 2007 #10 Share Posted September 6, 2007 We booked over a month ago with a BD guarantee, finally yesterday our room assignment came in, same BD. I'd have waited longer if I could have had an upgrade haha! 65 days out still.:)
