Interesting video of cruise ship tilt

Recommended Posts

Those of you that remember the tilt of the Crown Princess, someone has posted video from the casino security cameras on You Tube. It shows just how bad the tilt was.

Here are the links. Don't know how long they will last as I can't imagine Princess would want these published.

Can Princess force Utube to take them down? And I also wonder how the person who posted them got their hands on them.

yes, princess can force youtube to take those down.

that is some amazing video. i would've sssooo freaked out, but probably would've continued playing. i've been known to say "it's just an earthquake. relax. go back to sleep."

What I found interesting in the first one is the woman on the left in the white looks like she was playing that quarter machine where you drop the quarters in and try and knock the other quarters off the ledge.

After the tilt, you can see her go back and scoop something out of the machine before she is taken by the guy in the green jacket and moved to a stool. Want to bet the tilt loosened a lot of quarters out of the machine and she was trying to collect, LOL?

how & when did that happen and where??

That is crazy!

Happened last summer on the Crown Princess after she had just left Pt Canaveral on her way back to New York. She had a tilt/list. I believe that the cause was due to human error.

Here is an article about it.

From Princess.

Wow, thanks for the link....so scary! I feel so bad for the lady in the far left corner who smacked her head against the roulette table! She looked like she really got injured. I'm so thankful I have not had anything like that happen to us on our cruises.

Good video.

We were on the Rhapsody of the Seas in April of 2006 when, during dinner, the ship listed to one side, and then the other side. Condiments went flying, baskets of dinner rolls took off and things were crashing and breaking. It was extremely scary. A couple of minutes later dinner continued on without a hitch. We were so nervous for the kitchen staff, what with hot sauces, flames, etc., but it didn't appear to have caused any problems.

The Captain made an announcement of what appeared to have happened, computer controlling the stabilizers malfunctioned, told us everything was under control. Which was very reassuring.

The gift shops were closed for the rest of the night and part of the next day for clean up. I guess the liquor store was the worst, with broken alcohol bottles all over.
