muscleman Posted September 20, 2007 #26 Share Posted September 20, 2007 RCCL keep changing the Platinum and Diamond party. On the FOS they do a special breakfast now instead of the cocktail party. As far as the welcome back - FOS is the only cruise I couldn't order my special drink. So I guess it depends on the ship.
Deloresgardella Posted September 20, 2007 #27 Share Posted September 20, 2007 This is sort of cute. Anyway I think it is. Several years ago I took my then 8 year old granddaughter on the old independance out of Hawaii. One night we were wondering around the ship and got lost, anyway we ended up at some sort of Captain's party in a conference room, that is what it looked like. Everyone was real nice gave my granddaughter a snack and something to drink. Talked to us just like we belonged there. Never did find out really what it was for. Jeka Posted September 20, 2007 #28 Share Posted September 20, 2007 We were on the Explorer in July and Liberty last week. The Captain's welcome is on the first formal night from 7:45 to 8:15 for both dinner seatings. No food and only champaigne. Get there early as they run out quickly. To be honest, not worth the effort. I think people are mixing up Crown and Anchor parties with the one general party.
Mark_K Posted September 20, 2007 #29 Share Posted September 20, 2007 I am going on the Adventure of the Seas 10-07-07 and was wondering if during the welcome aboard captains party, if they serve complimentary cocktails ? I was on the Carnival Imagination last week, and at their welcome aboard captains party they did. I have never attended the party on any of our past RCCL cruises, and was just wondering if they serve the comp. drinks also.Yes, and take/order two at every chance. The attendee to waiter ratio is pretty high.
PrettyLA Posted September 20, 2007 #30 Share Posted September 20, 2007 On the Explorer last month they just handed out champagne and sprite and coke. That was it. I wasn't aware you could order a specific drink.
