airlinerob Posted September 24, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2007 Hey there everyone.... The last time I cruised, people told me about the trick getting a TracFone prepaid phone to use on the ship and it didn't cost any more than a regular call. Is that still working?? Pegs222 Posted September 24, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 24, 2007 Hey there everyone.... The last time I cruised, people told me about the trick getting a TracFone prepaid phone to use on the ship and it didn't cost any more than a regular call. Is that still working?? I have one and they do cost more. The roaming cost two "units" for every one "unit" you use to talk. I think if you are out of the US, it could get quite costly. I have mine for when my DH and I go to the Texas Gulf Coast in the winter. They are nice, you only pay once, use the "units", then prepay the phone again. I do not use it often, just so we can keep in touch with family while we are gone. I also take my lap top, free emails, much cheaper.
earlethepearl Posted September 24, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2007 Yes I would like to know if this is still working as well. The thread is good but it is almost 6 months old. Tracfone could have gotten smart to this since then.
