Where to sail away...

We're booked on the Jewel in a JS aft. I'd love some opinions on sail away in Ft. Lauderdale. Should we be up on deck or host our travelling companions on our balcony?

We always love the excitement up on the deck. Walking around seeing the sail away from different vantage points. You could start up top and then end up on your balcony with your friends.

I'd start up on the helicopter pad of the ship and then head back to your aft cabin for the final view of Ft. Lauderdale!

I've never been on Jewel but sail away on the deck of any ship is a fun way to get the vacation started

We start sailing away on the pool deck or upper decks. After the crowd and noise get to be too much, we then head to our balcony where we can enjoy the sail away more peacefully.

I love to enjoy sail away on a massage table. You can get some great deals, and what a way to start your vacation! Deep tissue or hot stone massages are my favorites!

We also prefer to be around the Pool and listen to the music, can go to the Helipad after. Our Roll Call I believe is planning to be by the SkyBar.

I will be on the same sailing as you, and have a hump balcony, but will def do sailaway from the pool deck or helipad.

One of our favorite sailaways was on Jewel two years ago when we departed from Boston. It was so fantastic watching the tugboats spraying water tooting as we sailed away. Kids on deck enjoyed watching the planes flying overhead as they landed at Boston's airport. We got a photo of the belly of a jet that was so close you felt like you could almost touch it.

 

It was a great day on deck listening to the Red Sox beat the Yankees on my DD's portable radio as we sailed away. When we returned to our cabin, we could see the largest sunset ever going down across the glass of Boston's John Hancock Tower.

 

We were fortunate to have a junior suite on Jewel. It was great--except for the guy smoking a cigar below our deck. The overhang above our balcony seemed to trap that cigar smoke right in front of our cabin.
