Can you tell me about the surcharge dining venue? Charge? Is it worth it?

If you have a group is it possible to have a huge group reservation?

Our family didn't get a chance to do David's Supper Club Dinner, however, I believe that it is $60.00 per person, and have heard great reviews about it. We were able to see the dining room while on our way to the Kids pool. There were several tables that were just for 2 and several that seated 6 and 8, so i'm sure if you have a group reservation, they would accomodate.

We were on the Pride Sept 16 to 23th. We did the supper club on the 18th. The service and quality was second to none . They do tell you to plan on a 2 1/2 hour meal. That was fine for us. The $30.00 extra charge is well worth it. We went because it was your anniversary .It was one of the high lights of our trip.;)

Yes kids pay the charge also. Book a time when they first open because I don't think they let kids in after a certain time. It really is more of an adult supper club. Our reservation was at six when it first opened and we left at 9:00 and there were no kids in the room during that time. The food and presentation was awesome.

I'm curious about this ship myself. My Dad, Husband and I are seriously looking at this ship and itinerary for next September. We want a cruise that goes to places we've never been before. All of us have cruised 7 times so far. We've done the Eastern 3 times, Western twice, Southern twice, so wer are looking for different ports of call. So can you tell me some specifics about the ship, its age, how does everything on the ship look, how are the ports, activities, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Impression of food, service, cabin type and quality.

In all honesty, the lido deck food was great. Everyday the food was always fresh. The best part of the lido deck food was the pasta bar, the sandwich bar and the grilled steak sandwiches by the pool. Make sure to look at the signs that are one the counters for each food section as it may list food that is prepared to order and not necessarily on the buffet line. The service was great, room service was always on time, our cabin was always cleaned up everytime we left the room. My parent's cabin had a broken wall light just above the sofa. We didn't really care about it so we didn't ask for it to be fixed. The 2nd day of the cruise, first thing in the morning, they were there to repair it. We had 2 extended balconies - which we had them remove the partition in between so that we could have one large balcony. It was absolutely worth the money! highly recommend it. There was total privacy from the cabins above and below, so unlike a few comments that I have read, no one threw their cigar butts onto our balcony. The only problem that I had was a very inconsiderate neighbor that kept slamming their balcony door shut at 5AM!! I kindly asked that they be careful with the door only in the mornings as we had a 2 year old that is a light sleeper. That took care of it. The cabins have plenty of space, the sofa bed converts to a twin size sleeper on the pride, that is where our 2 year old slept and he did fine. My only issue was the amount of nudity on the ship. I really don't care for my self, and my son is too young to notice, but I could see a 5 and 6 year old having some questions!!

I agree - how was the food quality, service - overall how was it? Any pics? Can you upload the capers? What type of cabin were you in?

And most of all did you have a good time?!

I don't think I kept any of the capers, but the food quality and service was great. I think I preferred the lido deck to the dinning room this time just because of the variety and the fact that it took an average of an hour and a half in the dinning room and a few times my 2 year old got restless. NOt a problem for me but I didn't want to disturb other people around us. Our cabin was an extended balcony on the verahnda deck. It was awsome! My parents were next door to us in an extended balcony as well so we had double the space after they removed the partition. Well worth the money especially if you are traveling with a young one. If they nap in the afternoon, you are not confined to your room. It was the best.

The ship as far as I know if farily new. I believe it was built 2003 or 2004. It has all the regular things every curise ship has - the spa, casino, card room, library etc. The ship is very well maintained, the bedding was the best - down comforters and pillows -I almost stole a few pillows, but my consience got the better of me :) The first port, Puerto Viallarta, we did the countryside excursion and were very disappointed. We basically visited the area where children live in half built houses, donkeys romming around with chickens, it was a very poor area of puerto viallarta that we visited. I don't recommend it. If you are looking for worthy cause to donate money to however, we did see a public school that was in very bad shape and could use some TLC. Next time, I think we will just take a taxi into the downtown area and do our own exploring ($3 USD per person one way with a taxi) The second port was Mazatlan. We did the sightseeing and shopping tour. We also went to a Mexican Paplanta Flyers show that was really nice. then went to the Golden Zone for shopping. Very nice as well. The last stop was Cabo. We did the Cabo by land and Sea excursion that was awsome. Took a cruise around the Arch and then went to Los Cabos to visit the church and shop, next went to the Cactus museum - it was ok. The best stop was the glass blowing factory. This was our 3rd Mexican Riviera Curise. the last 2 we did in May, and this one was 9-30 sailing. The only advise I would give you is to perhaps wait until after hurricane season as you risk not being able to see these ports if a hurricane hit. If a hurricane didn't hit, you are going to be in 80-90% humidity in all the ports and will be very very hot. The only port we had some rain in was Puerto Viallarta. The other 2 days were just hot and humid. Let me know if I've missed anything.

In PV we rented a van and drove to the jungle area where predator was filmed. We stopped at a Tequila factory on the way which was fun. we had lunch at a small restaurant overlooking the sea. Then we shopped in the late afternoon. In Maztalan we booked an excursion to Stone Island through Johanna and Sandra on line. Lunch was provided and was good. They had an open bar. I would book this again. In Cabo we hooked up with a tour operator on the dock and went on a glass botton boat tour. It was 15 per person. It a=was a lot of fun. we then went to the Giggling Marlin for lunch. we had a blast.

The ship was great. take a light jacket or sweater as it gets cold in the lounges and casino. Food was ok. Not as good as it was two years ago when I was on the Pride but still good. The guy playing music in the casino really sucked. The guy playing in the atrium country music was really good. My friends enjoyed the shows.
