Fam of 5 Posted August 31, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2004 We were on the Majesty in August and met a man that told me they were taking the Majesty out of service and remodeling her to become a Casino cruise out of China? Could this be good information? I do think I read here awhile ago that she was going to be updated sometime in October 2004/2005. Anyone know anything about this? We would like to book her again for next August. I'm afraid we're hooked on cruising. Thanks for any information.
F5Loar Posted September 1, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2004 $2 million to be spent in drydock in October, 2004. Should be fine for 2005. 2007 leaves the fleet for parts unknown maybe China.
macdays1 Posted September 1, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 1, 2004 I was told it would be done in Boston at the end of October.
sbcs5390 Posted September 1, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Copy and paste from another post of mine... From an officer, I can tell you this: Sea: Going 4/06 Wind: 4/07 The Crown, Majesty, Sea, Wind, and Dream are all going to Star Cruises in the next several years. NCLA hopes to have 5 ships by 2007: PO Aloha, PO America, PO Hawaii, S/S United States, and S/S Independence (now 4... because I believe that one was sold for scrap). -Brian
ahoughton Posted September 1, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 1, 2004 They are booking her out of Charleston all winter. There was rumor that Norway might be sold to go to Asia for a floating hotel/casino.
sbcs5390 Posted September 1, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2004 For now it is being used as a floating hotel for PO___ workers in Bermerhaven. -Brian
