chewbacca Posted October 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2007 Our room will be across from the elevator on our cruise on the Freedom in March. Please tell me it will not be too bad! Our last cruise on RCCL we had a long walk from our room to the elevators. I really did not want that again either!
Sandi149 Posted October 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2007 Our room will be across from the elevator on our cruise on the Freedom in March. Please tell me it will not be too bad! Our last cruise on RCCL we had a long walk from our room to the elevators. I really did not want that again either! I never sailed on the Freedom but I did sail on the Legend and Miracle and both times were by the elevators (my choice). We never heard anything at all. I thought it was a great location. On the Miracle we were right by the midship atrium elevators and I absolutely loved that location and would pick it again. It was just so convenient to everything. CruiseFever Posted October 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 14, 2007 Our room will be across from the elevator on our cruise on the Freedom in March. Please tell me it will not be too bad! Our last cruise on RCCL we had a long walk from our room to the elevators. I really did not want that again either! We had one right by the elevators on the Glory and were not bothered at all by noise. I liked it because it was easy to find and since it was mid-ship it was close to everything. ata1976 Posted October 14, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2007 We have never had too much noise because of the elevators. I really liked my cabin last month on the Sensation. We were near the Aft elevators. It was one floor up to our dining room and a few floors up to the Seaview Grill.
letsgocruz1 Posted October 14, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 14, 2007 Another vote for being near the elevators. Very little noise, but lots of convenience! I think you'll be happy with your choice.

BrendaB1 Posted October 14, 2007 #7 Share Posted October 14, 2007 Very convenient location & no noise problems on any ship in the past for me.
skiorcruise Posted October 16, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 16, 2007 I've been very close to the elevators on both the Conquest and the Pride. No problems, mon. Yes, I'd recommend it.
Kurbanfan Posted October 16, 2007 #9 Share Posted October 16, 2007 We always request to be next to midship elevator. Never had a problem with noise.
UpstateCruizer Posted October 16, 2007 #10 Share Posted October 16, 2007 We were in cabin 7334 on the Triumph in August. We did not hear the elevators but we did hear alot of people noise. People tend to be quieter when they are going down the halls and make their plans when they hit the elevator areas. 2 months earlier we were about 5 cabins down from the elevators and it was perfect for not hearing any noise. Based on our experience with cabin 7334 I made sure to chose cabins that are down the hall from the elevators on our next 2 cruises. If you are the type that sleeps soundly or can go back to sleep easily you will be fine. I think also alot of it has to do with how considerate fellow passengers are. :)
cblue204 Posted October 16, 2007 #11 Share Posted October 16, 2007 Wow four cruises and i have never saw the doors open for me. Just kidding actually we were 2 doors down from them on one cruise and never heard them...
sinkers22 Posted October 16, 2007 #12 Share Posted October 16, 2007 Just got off the Miracle 3 weeks ago and had a cabin right by the Aft elevators. We got off the elevator, turned the corner to the corridor and were right at our cabin door. Loved it! Absolutely no noise at all.
Sugarland Cruiser Posted October 16, 2007 #13 Share Posted October 16, 2007 we could hear the elevator's sound when it came in our stateroom but it was faint and we were right across. Loved being so close to the elevator but ended up taking the stairs ALOT!
bobnlisam Posted October 16, 2007 #14 Share Posted October 16, 2007 We were across from the elevators on the Conquest and only had a problem on the last night. A group of teens decided to congregate by the elevators and were very loud. After a while, I stepped out and ask nicely if they could go somewhere else to talk and they obliged. PelicanBill Posted October 17, 2007 #15 Share Posted October 17, 2007 We had a cabin that was directly off the opening to the forward stair and elevator on Destiny last week. Hardly ever noticed any noise. Only noticeable noise was our neighbor coming home at 2:30 one night!
Wennfred Posted October 17, 2007 #16 Share Posted October 17, 2007 You won't hear the elevators because the cabins doors seal shut and also the elevators are in their own room.
