we were booked on the island for 1/19, but had to cancel. the thing is i already had a hotel room booked. and priceline will not cancel the reservation. so the question is if someone needed a hotel room for the 18 could they use it? it just seems silly to have a room wasted.

Technically no, you cannot give, sell or trade a room on Priceline to someone else. What you can do, and you didn't hear it from me, is call the hotel, say my name is Brad Pitt and I would like to add my girlfriend, boyfriend, mom, dad or whomever to my reservation because they will be getting there before I do. Then you give the other persons name that you are giving the reservation to. When the new person gets to the hotel, since they are the first ones there, they do the check in. I cannot guarantee 100% that this will always work but I do know many people who have done this successfully. You might also want to email Priceline with a huge sob story and hope you get a CSR that is in a good mood. I have personally weasled out of several Priceline reservations, although I think the odds of me doing it ever again are pretty tilted at this point.
