Wine?

On our last cruise, we took some of our favorite wine and a very good bottle of champagne for our sail-away party. We flew from SF to London and designated a suitcase for them and wrapped them well in bubblewrap and then made sure, with the of small items that they couldn't jiggle around. all bottles came through intact and in great shape. Plus we then had a suitcase ready for souvenirs!

Place into a large ziplock bag, then wrap in bubble wrap. Put in center of checked luggage.

I don't know what NCL's policy is on wine but they do not allow carry on alcohol. If discovered they most likely will take it and give it back at the end of the cruise.

Cheers,

If the very good bottle of wine is champagne DON'T bring it! The pressure drop in the plane's unpressurized hold could make the cork pop, no matter how well wrapped. Since carry on is no longer an option, enjoy that bottle of bubbly at home.

If it's "regular" wine, consider packing it in a styrofoam wine shipper in your baggage:

Some fine wines don't travel well - shaking disturbs sediment.

From what I've read on other posts, NCL will allow carry on wine and charge a $15 corkage fee. If it's found in your checked luggage, the luggage will be held and you will have to report to a "naughty" room at which time you can pay the corkage fee or let NCL keep it until the end of the cruise.
