spintowin Posted November 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2007 what is the best way to get to pier 30 from seattle airport? Thinking about flying in day of cruise, about 11 am, and want to head straight over to the pier. Are there car rental services at the pier? We would be staying a few days after cruise, so not an issue on the return. Thank You for any help.
sunsetme Posted November 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2007 there are shuttles but I would advise a cab--its faster to the buffet!
CRUZIN TOM Posted November 15, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 15, 2007 A cab is only about 15-20 minute drive to the pier. Probably $25.00 or so. No traffic if they take the back highways. It is south of downtown Seattle.:)
Cruisin' Chick Posted November 16, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2007 Probably would cost less to catch a cab than bother with an one way rental. One thing to remember is that Terminal 30 is right near the sports complex. So if there's a game at Mariner Stadium that afternoon, traffic will get hectic (we saw this the day before our cruise when we were sightseeing in Seattle). So you may be risking heavy duty traffic if your flight is running late and gets into Seatac later than 11am. The airport is quite a distance south of Seattle. Personally I would try to avoid flying in the day of a cruise. You never know when a flight gets cancelled, or is running late due to weather conditions, mechanical problems, labor problems... We took the train up the west coast but arrived midnight Friday for a Sunday cruise. Had a day to relax from the train trip, to shop for whatever we didn't want to schlep all the way from California, and got a little sightseeing in pre-cruise.
