lkohawaii Posted November 24, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2007 Just wanted everyone to know that some of the vendors have 2 coupons in the Northern Lights Book. I got mine today and the Kenai Fijords has 2 of the same coupon and same with the Sea Life Center. I didn't have to buy 2 books. I could have only bought one. Don't want someone else to get stuck with an extra book they could have done without. Well, I'm still saving money so I can't complain....just thought this could save someone else even more. lkohawaii Posted November 24, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted November 24, 2007 Thanks to these boards and Susan in Anchorage...sorry I don't know her screen name told us about Northern Lights. For me it fit my needs at 1/2 the price of Toursaver. Everyone has to look at their own plans and then look at the books. I have 2 children going with us so I assumed I would need 2 books...but to my surprise when the Northern Lights book came all the coupons I needed had 2 coupons in the book. Now, that's an extra bonus. Toursaver might have 2 coupons also...I just don't know because I didn't order Toursaver. Ask questions before you buy and I'm sure those of us with the book in hand will be glad to help.

knorrisb07 Posted November 25, 2007 #10 Share Posted November 25, 2007 How do you like their service? I am not too used to shopping on the internet I had a great experience with zen-ray. They are very prompt in replying to my email inquiry. What impressed me the most is that they really take care of their customers. I lost a piece of lens cap several months after I ordered my binoculars. I emailed them to ask for a quote of replacement part. Instead, I was sent a replacement free of charge. lkohawaii Posted November 27, 2007 Author #11 Share Posted November 27, 2007 How do you like their service? I am not too used to shopping on the internet I got prompt e mails when my binnoculars were shipped out and then when my Northern Lights books were shipped out. Watch their specials. I could have also gotten a free lens pen with my purchase but because I didn't put it in my cart I didn't get it. My mistake. No biggie. My friend was afraid it was a Zen-Rey scam on here with Zen-Rey giving themselves their own good reviews. I'm just a consumer who ordered through them. My service was fast and just as expected. As far as the quality of the binnoculars I leave that to the experts here at CC. I bought the Vista and my friend the Summit. They both arrived at my home. I can't tell the difference between the 2..but then again I'm no binnocular expert.
kGCAL Posted November 27, 2007 #12 Share Posted November 27, 2007 lkohawaii and knorrisb07, thanks for sharing your experience. ikohawaii, does AKRR offer two discount coupons on Northern Light book as well? We are thinking about riding the train from Anchorage to Seward after coming back from Denali before boarding the ship. Now, we need to figure out the total cost difference between train ride and one-way car rental.

You can buy one book and get 4 people out of it. It's buy one get one free...but I think only for Northwestern tour if I remember correctly. Susan will correct me if I'm wrong. She's right 2 coupons for the Kenai Fjords Tours "Northerwestern Fjord Cruise". It's valid May 24 to Sept 7, 2008 and it's a 9 hour tour (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) http://www.kenaifjords.com/545.cfm It's buy one adult get one free it also says advanced reservations required, one free cruise per coupon, offer good on space available basis at time of booking. Cancellation terms apply. There is another coupon (just one though) in the book for the 1/2 day Kenai Fjords by Major Marine Tours - http://www.majormarine.com/alaska-day-cruises/kenai-fjords-halfday-wildlife-cruise/ Again it's buy one get one free adult and valid May 3 to June 20 and Aug 1 to Sept 21, 2008 and it states pretty much the same condition as the one above. Then there are 4 coupons in the book for Renown. 2 for the 3 hr Wildlife & Glacier Cruise http://www.renowntours.com/resurrection-bay-cruise.htm and 2 for the 6 hour Kenai Fjords National park cruise http://www.renowntours.com/kenai-fjords-park-cruise.htm. These are good October 15, 2007 to October 14, 2008. One Free cruise per coupon, offer good on space available basis, not transferable to any other departure. That's all the Kenai Fjords coupons in the Northern Lights book. Susan in Anchorage :)

NancyIL Posted December 8, 2007 #18 Share Posted December 8, 2007 Then, we won't be able to use the coupon for AKRR. For Kenai Fjord tour, which company is better? Kenai Fjord, Renown, or Northwestern? Kenai Fjords Tours runs both the 9-hour Northwestern Fjord cruise and three 6-hour Kenai Fjords cruises: http://www.kenaifjords.com/733.cfm The Northern Lights coupon is good only for the longer Northwestern Fjord cruise, as well as the Renown 6-hour Kenai Fjords cruise at 11:30. I've been on the Renown cruise, and it is excellent. Most people who have been on the Northwestern cruise will tell you that longer is better. lkohawaii Posted December 9, 2007 Author #19 Share Posted December 9, 2007 Don't know if this makes a difference but the lady at Renown told me that they own the Northern Lights book company...so it was easy to reserve the tour with them using the coupon. pizzalady1 Posted October 27, 2008 #25 Share Posted October 27, 2008 The Toursaver books begin shipping on 11/15/08; free shipping if you order before 11/15. http://www.toursaver.com/?gclid=CKP76LT345MCFRUasgodvwUKZg Everyone needs to look at both books and compare what offers they will use. For me, the more expensive book had more of what I wanted and generated the most savings, even taking into account the higher cost.
