Do I need photo release for gift made from Dolphin Discovery Photo

We visited Cozumel, Dolphin Discovery earlier in the year and bought quite a few photos. Thinking about a Christmas gift for my daughter to include a photo pillowcase of her swimming with the dolphin. The photo store said that I could scan in any photo to be printed on the case. I know they will ask for a photo release (they did for cards made from a cruise photo). It seems like when we bought the CD & pictures, they said we could print more photos from the CD. Does anyone know if I will need a photo release or has anyone obtained one from Dolphin Discovery before. It does not say copyright, but has Sosa with a series of numbers on the back of the photo. Thanks for your help.

Check the CD for a photo release included on it that you can print out. If there isn't one there, contact the Dolphin Discovery ppl for how to get a release. Yes, you will need one - every photo with such a copyright needs one and a store could get in legal trouble for reprinting such a photo without a release.

yes you definately need a release. I work for Walgreens and we sell a ton of the giftables. Any photo that is taken professionally has to have a release, but there should be one on the disc embedded as a file.

or you can send the photo to snapfish and they will copy the image for you.
