Tampa/Brandon Area Hotels

We are sailing on the Grandeur of the Seas on March 27th and will be driving in the day before. We are stopping in Orlando for an Atlanta Braves spring training game and will continue on to Tampa afterwards. We like to stay at Country Inns and Suites and have found one in the Brandon area. It looks to be a nice area with a mall and decent restaurants but I'd like some other opinions to be sure I don't have us staying somewhere terrible. Does anyone have experience with this area or live in Tampa and can let know whether to stay here or not?

Yes, it is a nice facility if you are looking at the one on Faulkenburg Road (915 South Falkenburg Road). Since you will have a car you can easily drive to the Brandon Westfield Mall which happens to be a nice covered and rather large mall. It is probably five minutes away. You also would have very easy access to the Crosstown Expressway less than five minutes away. To the cruise terminals from your location would be about a 20 minute or less drive via the Crosstown. There are lots of restaurants in Brandon. Some are in the Mall and many of them are on Hwy 60. The hotel should have recommendations.
