Coastaljen Posted January 18, 2008 #1 Posted January 18, 2008 I noticed that the travel agent websites have not had them listed. They were also gone from NCL's website. I had checked in this general area, but I haven't seen anyone questioning it. On our trip thread someone said they were told they were "sold out" when they called NCL..which sounded a bit odd. Then someone else said different people are being told different things by NCL. I called NCL today and said I was interested in the May ll, Pof Al sailing. The woman said that the May and June sailings for Hawaii were "on hold." They couldn't sell any right now. I said what do you mean. ... She said that she just tells everyone to keep checking back so that when they are released they can buy a spot on them. They aren't allowed to sell any of those trips right now. I asked why they were on hold. She then said they were taking inventory. That seemed odd. I honestly thought she had no idea what was meant by hold. I may be wrong. I just wanted to see if anyone had ever heard of such a thing.
Don Haynes Posted January 18, 2008 #2 Posted January 18, 2008 I checked a site that sail sold out on all of the cruises on the Pride of Aloha until July 6th. Thus, they are sold out. NCLA is not having any problems selling cruises in Hawaii even though the prices reflect a much higher price this year. It appears NCLA will have to increase the price for next year. Looks as if dropping two ships out of the market has worked to return NCLA into a profit. No more bargain $300 inside cabin cruises.

SeattleCruiselover Posted January 18, 2008 #4 Posted January 18, 2008 There is a thread about this on the Hawai'i board about this. You might want to check it out. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=691170 and this one: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=695229
Coastaljen Posted January 18, 2008 Author #5 Posted January 18, 2008 I guess what makes it hard to believe is that every sailing in July has rooms left on travel agent websites. Yes, one or more types of room may be sold out, but there are still others to pick from on every sailing. Thus, the idea that two entire ships have sold out every room for two months is a bit odd. Plus, it happened overnight..... Also, the fact that when I called, she said they were not sold out, and others were also told that. They did not try to sell me one in July. They said to keep calling back because when they released them, they would then be able to sell the rooms in May and June. I am not risking it. I cancelled the ticket penalty free, and I will buy another ticket when I figure out what exactly is going on with NCLA. I booked the cruise last August. ** I just saw the last post above. I will go read what it says. Wow thanks for the great links. I am not the only one in the dark. No, I really believe they are not sold out. I am glad I am not the only one being given a run around.
