TEXASMUNK Posted January 21, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2008 Now being install around the nation...can cruise lines be far behind? These things are so sensitive they can detect alcohol...inside the bottle! Saw news clip yesterday. They are not disclosing airport locations where the new technology is already in use, but according to the report, locations are expanding. No, it is not solely for alcohol, it literally eliminates from analysis, the container and evaluates the contents of containers. The report said it did something in excess of 1 trillion calculations per second. Once cruise lines get ahold of this technology, booze smuggling will have to get far more creative! Jimmers Posted January 21, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2008 Couldn't find any info on this y ray machine. Do you have any links. Or is this the same controversial "see all" machine the ACLU is fighting against that can supposedly count the hairs on a mans chest and tell how deep a woman's navel is?. jayandrhea Posted January 21, 2008 #6 Share Posted January 21, 2008 Hello fellow Voyager 2/24/08. I just bought the rumrunner it is great. All ready used it. I have a friend who works on the dock and he xrays the stuff that goes on the ship. He stated they only look for knifes, guns and bombs. And if you liquor is in a bottle that looks like it. Look into other ways that they do not normaly see. Now being install around the nation...can cruise lines be far behind? These things are so sensitive they can detect alcohol...inside the bottle!
