After you get your colored luggage tags in your room, just bring them down to the Guest Services desk and trade them for other colors. They are usually just sitting out for people to take the colors they want. (At least, this is what we found on the Majesty on our last three cruises). :)

If you change your color tags, make sure to discuss it with your cabin attendant. Hopefully you will get your bags in the correct bin!

We once requested early off tags (this was the days before self-disembark), got them and put them on our luggage. Our BIL, two doors down and with a different cabin attendant had done the same thing, but talked with his cabin attendant about it. His bags were waiting for him, ours didn't come out until the same time our original color was delivered. We waited over an hour for them.

The only down side was our kids missed a day of school because of it, of course that depends on whose side of the story you listen to :)

On Freedom in December, they handed out forms early in the week requesting information about debarkation times. We wanted to get off a bit later, so we took our tags down to the Purser's/Guest Services desk the evening before debarkation to change them. They had a table set up with tags for all time choices. Our three cabins exchanged for the time/colour we wanted.

(We took one extra tag to keep with us so we wouldn't forget what colour we had changed to ---- one less thing to have to remember!)

Don't tell your friends that it is easy to get the same colored code tags!

Tell your friends that you are willing to work with RCI to accommodate them if they are willing to pick up your bar tab for the week!

Yeah, you cn get the same colors...On your last day before disembarkation, go up to the Purser's Desk area and secure the number of tags, in the appropriate color and have your friends use them

Even if you forget to change your luggage tags for the same color, the party due to get off first can always hold back and get off with the other. Their luggage will be in a different area or on a different carousel, but you can probably sort that out pretty easily once you get off the ship and porters will help you assemble all of the luggage so you can pass through customs together.:)
