Chicken Store - Key West

They sold more than just t-shirts -- it was a fun place to walk around. They had chickens and roosters walking around in the store which had wood chips on the floor. They rehabilitated sick and wounded chickens. They even had a blind chicken in the back of the store. I know, it sounds very bizzare, but it was really cool. We have chickens at home and we just really enjoyed it. They also sold beautiful hand painted roofing tiles - very expensive but very nicely done, glasses, bumper stickers, aprons, etc. - anything chicken, they had it. They also accepted donations in order to off-set the costs of taking care of the chickens that had been abused by the people who found them annoying. Their website, I have heard, is still open.

A woman's futile effort to protect the thousands of annoying wild chickens that roam Key West and wake you up at 0430 with their crowing. She sold tshirts.

lol as if they need "protecting." The chicken store is gone, but the chickens live on. Those "annoying" chickens have been there a lot longer than you have, by the way ;)
