pre cruise hotel in Miami

we stay at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami, excellent location right across from the Bayside Marketplace that has a bunch of restaurants and shops. Nice, clean reasonable hotel and it is a 10$ cab ride to the port. If you are lucky enough to get a port facing room you will see your ship in port in the am. Also make sure you join the Holiday Inn Priority Club (free on their site) and you will get a discount on the nice buffet breakfast.

You can also try bidding for a downtown Miami 3 or 4 star hotel on Priceline. There are a limited number of hotels in this area that will fit that description and we have had very good luck in getting them, often for less than $75 a night. :)

I got the Radisson for $49 one Thursday night last year. I heard though it changed over to a Hilton but can't confirm. It was close enough to see the ships while at the same time nice enough to enjoy our quick overnight, especially at the good Priceline price we got.
