Robin G Posted February 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2008 We are thinking about a cruise including this port. My husband, 12 yr old daughter and myself. Any suggestions of what to do? Thanks.
USFcrew Posted February 13, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2008 We did a zip-line thru a company called shoretrips.com which should be good for a 12 year old and it was close to the beach with nice white sand and good snorkeling.
awatt Posted February 16, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2008 My 8 and 10 year old loved the horseback riding. They said it was their favorite part of the trip. And I agree!
lfdianne Posted February 16, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2008 We were in Roatan in January with our 3 children, ages 14, 12 and 8. We used Victor Bodden and were able to make our own custom tour. The kids LOVED the monkeys, we snorkeled, and we zip-lined at Memba Zip-line. We were fortunate enough to have a full day in Roatan, so we were never rushed. We also had time for a leisurely lunch (while waiting out a rainstorm) and shopping back at the dock. We had friends who also used Victor and visited the monkeys, iguana farm, and ship wreck with their 11 and 14 year olds.
A&Jfamily Posted February 18, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 18, 2008 If your child likes animals, the monkeys are the best; we are going back this year and my 10 year old is mad that I have choses to go to the tabayana beach instead...:o

lfdianne Posted February 18, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2008 Cruisermom, We went to Memba Zip line with our 9 yo dd, and 12 and 14 yo ds. They all had a blast, and our 9 yo even did "superman" where they hooked the clip to the back of her harness and she "flew" down like superman, she went down with the guide for this. I think with the age ranges of people visiting Roatan, all the ziplines are prepared for different ages.
