DustFSU Posted February 14, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 14, 2008 A lot of the ships now only have one every cruise because people never went to the midnight buffet. Couple of reasons is the adult comedians don't go on till 11 or midnight, so they lose out on all of those people. Also the casino's are pretty packed around midnight so no one wants to leave the action. So they couldn't get anyone to come so it was a waste of food. So they might have one night they have a party on the pool deck and then a buffet in the windjammer.
Brad1185 Posted February 14, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 14, 2008 Our experiences at the midnight buffet was different. We usually say that it looks like a thousand extra people had some how got on board. Usually it seemed that there were more people at the midnight buffet than the muster drill. How can that be. The line RCI wants you to believe is that people did not go, so it was cancelled due to lack of interest. The real reason, is they want to cut back. Give you less. If you want a late night snack your severly limited. We wont go to JR because you have to pay. The gourmet bites are a joke. We are not into frozen pizza. RS menu is severly lacking. We are hoping something else is offered, does not have to be on the scale of the gala.
Bean72 Posted February 14, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2008 When we were on Liberty in 8/07 there were 2 late night buffets, one was held on the pool deck and they had hot foods, tacos, carving stations, cheese platters and some desserts. The "gala buffet" was later in the week up in Windjammer and they had cheese, breads, desserts and lots of decorations. This was my first cruise... so I wasn't really sure what to expect. Everyone had told me prior to going, make sure I don't miss the buffet. I went, and I wasn't all that impressed.
