ols0262 Posted February 21, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2008 We're considering a 7N sailing over the Christmas Holiday or New Years Holiday. Aside from the premium rates that'll be paid for choosing this timeframe, has anyone experienced the holiday's while onboard the Magic or the Wonder? Looking for any pros and cons or other comments/feedback that could help us make a decision. Otherwise, we're considering end of October or beginning of November timeframe. Thanks for sharing your feedback! Debby
NancyIL Posted February 21, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2008 The high pricetag would be the biggest con for me. You could go on two cruises during low season for what DCL charges at holiday time.
mom x4,grandma x4 Posted February 21, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2008 We love the shipbeing decorated and CC too. They have extra holiday events on he ship too but you dont haveto go over the holiday to enjoy them. we like to go after the week of Thanksgiving to get lower prices and the ship is decorated and they have holiday events to do. perhaps you could squeeze a cruise in then. as stated above the price is the only bad thing, so go on an off week and savebut still enjoy all the special things on board. mom x4,grandma x4

NancyIL Posted February 21, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2008 After my post above, I checked prices for the Nov. 28, 2009 western cruise that both momx4 and I are on, as well as the Dec. 26, 2009 western cruise that is over New Year's. Two adults in a cat. 11 = $1927.80 on the earlier cruise, and $3867.80 on the holiday cruise. As I said - twice the price for the holiday cruise! PantherFan Posted February 23, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 23, 2008 Maybe try week prior to Christmas? We have done many Holiday cruises and they are crowded but very festive. Worth the $$? Personal choice really, if it is the only week you can go and you really want to do it then it is worth the splurge. (The ship is decorated, characters are in holiday attire and snow at Castaway Cay) We are paying double for RCL's Independence for this year's Christmas week so we just did a cheaper catagory. We really want to go.:)
