las313 Posted February 29, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 29, 2008 Question - Are the caves open? We will be in Barbados in March on HAL Maasda. Can we find a local taxi to take us to the caves and back to the ship? Any idea how much that would cost? What is the cost of the caves? rohan Posted February 29, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 29, 2008 Harrison Cave is Open, I just called them. $40-adults and $20 for children. Taxi should cost you around $30 and it's around 30 to 40 minutes away from the port (depends on who's driving and what the traffic is like getting out of the city) It's one of my favorite spots in Barbados. There's another Cave nearby, that FEW people know about. I used to go caving there with friends growing up. Enjoy Harrisons. Definitely a cool spot. Taxi should cost you around $30 To clarify equivalent values in Real Dollars for da nice peeple.. Harrisons Cave admission: Adults: Bds.$40 per person = U.S.$ 20 per person. Children: Bds.$ 20 per child = U.S.$ 10 per child. Taxi fare 'around Bds.$30' (if you're lucky!:) ) = around U.S $

Aplmac Posted March 1, 2008 #9 Share Posted March 1, 2008 How long a taxi ride is it and how long to tour the caves? It takes about 20-25 mins. to get there -Port to Caves- Can't help you much with how long the actual tour of the caves takes, since it's been a long while.. but I'd allow half-hour for waiting your turn and then maybe 45 mins. to an hour for the actual tour but I could be wrong. Aplmac Posted March 1, 2008 #10 Share Posted March 1, 2008 Will we need to get Barbadian money or will they take US? Can't think of a single place on the island that would not accept the U.S.Dollar...:) Up and down these islands, The U.S.Dollar is Boss! Only in places like Martinque and Guadeloupe, where Euro's are the currency would I expect some problems, and even then...
