Another Funpass Question/Fascination Question

We are doing the 5 day Fascination on 11/10/08. Carnival has added something new when completing the funpass. It is where you give information on a credit card. But it says you still have to show them the credit card at embarkation. I was wondering what is the purpose of this new addition to the funpass?

 

Secondly, with Fascination being a older ship, do they still use keys to enter your stateroom as opposed to your Sail and Sign card?

Maybe it's to make sure you have a credit card rather than using cash. Fascination does have separate room keys. Your sail and sign card is not used as your room key.

Thanks for the information. If I remember, you had to fill out a page where you listed your credit card number and signed. This may be a way of eliminating that page and all you have to do is to show your credit card at embarkation.
