Freedom of the seas Jan.25th 2009 booked solid

Recommended Posts

My TA tried to book the freedom of the seas jan 25th 2009 cruise for me today and they told her it was booked solid by one group.it must be a pretty big booking.thesawch

I did a quick search (out of curiosity!) and it looks like it has been booked by Atlantis, they do lifestyle cruises on all the major lines. Not positive, but I think they always charter the whole ship when they do events.

I did a quick search...

How exactly do you search to find out if there is a certain group booked on a certain ship? Someone once before suggested googling "group cruises" but that didn't really show what I was looking for. Is there some other way? Thanks.

I typed in "Freedom of the Seas January 25, 2009" in Google and came across Atlantis which is a gay travel company.

From following group cruises,I found that Atlantis usually books a full ship.

I have been on a 1/2 ship charter with a totally different group that brought their own entertainment. They wanted to push us into early seating, many public rooms were occupied, etc.

I google a lot to find very large groups so that we book other weeks.

That's exactly what I did... it actually lead me to a thread here on CC!

NC Mtn- sometimes you have to play around with the date a little... typing the whole date out or putting it in mm/dd/yy format, and etc. with the ship name. And sometimes it helps if you add "group" to it.

Also TAs can often pick up clues -- like all balcony cabins being gone close to a year out; offering a smoking section in the dining room (which is usually all non-smoking) etc. I've picked up on groups that annually book a 1/2 or whole ship charter and check to see if they have my target week booked.

Thanks so much for this sort of info - it never occurred to me to check for groups booking large numbers of people. Thanks for the input and perhaps preventing me from making potential booking error for our family group. These boards are wonderful for learning all sorts of ins and outs of traveling!
