Help! Transport from Galveston to iah

We're taking the TA from Barcelona to Galveston in Nov/Dec. Does anyone have plans of returning to IAH from the Galveston pier? Or are you staying in Galveston and taking a shuttle from IAH at the beginning?

Thanks for your assistance bec I sure need it. Have booked hotel in Barcelona but don't know about transfers there either. Got a better rate than Royal plus we're staying an extra night. Also saved by purchasing our own airfare.

how many passengers do you have? I know a taxi can be pricey. I know www.thetransferanswer.com does cruise transfers for galveston but it may not be the best option if you are only 2 passengers. They will still beat a taxi price but not cheap as it's so far.

Rented a van for the five of us. Cheaper than other transportation. Returned it to IAH. About an 1 hour and 20 minute drive.

I looked online today and yellow cab is quoting 144.00 from IAH to Galveston... We are a family of 4 called the transfer answer and 300.00 RT. It expensive to go to Galvestion!!! I guess the outragous gas prices dont help :(

Yeah, we're dealing with this,too. We did end up getting 2 one way rentals from Hertz: 120 from IAH and 60 bucks back. Go figure about that.

Joevoter, we are doing the same thing as lovebug, renting a car one-way.

In Barcelona the transfer to the ship is very easy...but the trick is that they charge you per piece of luggage in the taxi...!! make sure to agree on a price for each piece of luggage, or when you arrive at the pier not far from the south tip of Las Ramblas...you see the cost in Euros, in the taxi, and it looks alright, until the driver presses a button and adds the luggage fee. Ahh! The first time we learned the hard way, the second time we were thrilled with the low rate from any Las Ramblas hotel

Super shuttle in Texas is $150 from the pier to the IAH and $100 to Hobby. The rate is per shuttle whether there are 2 people or 10 people. We looked for others to join us on the M&M site and filled the shuttle up in 2 days. At $10.30 each we sure are saving a lot.
