oct 18 magic teacher's convention????

I just called my travel agent to book for oct 18, 2008 western carribbean. My travel agent called me back and said disney stated that the week of oct 18 2008 was a teacher's convention but did not have details. Does anybody know what this means?

*chuckle* I wonder where all those teachers will be meeting? It isn't as if the boardrooms will fit a ton of people... Maybe in the theatre where the shows are?

The teachers in various states have conventions at various times. In New Jersey it is the second week in November. If you go to Disney that week, half the people are from NJ. I went a number of times with my kids since it was not the same as going in the summer. I would assume a lot of people book the cruiseline also.

That IS our weekend off school next year for NE Ohio Educators Association. Don't know about other states.

DCL does not give teacher discounts. Group rates are sometimes available for different interest groups.... You would have to check with DCL travel agents that book blocks of rooms for conventions, group trips...etc.
