2luv2cruz Posted October 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2004 Does anyone know if Summit will be able to make the Georgetown, Grand Cayman port as scheduled for the 10/25 cruise? My son and his new bride will be honeymooning on this cruise and are hoping to do the stingray excursion. Celebrity still is not stating on their webpage info as to port substitution or just a sea day (which stinks...) Thanks for any info. chessbriar Posted October 9, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2004 It is still too early to tell. The island is capable to support the cruise ships, but their biggest problem right now is what to do with 12,000 people. The tour companies don't have the vehicles or boats to entertain that many people at this time. They are hoping to be open for business soon. So there is a chance the prot will be open by Oct 25. Celebrity is not going to abandon a great port in their time of need. As soon as the ports can handle the ship, the ships will be right back. They don't want to write off a port that has been so good to them. They will make the decision about a week ahead of time as to stop or not, then will take the time to see if alternate prots are available.
