Westward Panama Canal : Octobre or November 08? Coral or Island P. ?

Hi!

I've long looked forward to take a Panama transcanal cruise. Westwards, as sailing "with the sun" allows to gain time (have 25-hour day sometimes!).

I have selected two Princess sailings for this fall (on two sister ships):

* CORAL PRINCESS Fort Lauderdale/ Los Angeles (22 Octobre to 5 November).

* ISLAND PRINCESS (same itinerary) : 16 November/ 30 November.

Now, what dates would you recommand?

The itinerary is the same, and is not the best I have seen, in my opinion, but if we do the cruise, that'll be on either of those ships.

I have no idea which one to book : I guess days will be slightly longer in October! What about temperature? and the weather?

Any advice on what to do ashore at the places we'd be calling at?

We intend to stay two days in LA once the cruise over (I want to say on the QUEEN MARY too, as I'm a ship buff and very interested in the history of transatlantic liners)

Thanks for your advice and recommandation.

Jacques O, Paris.

Doing the Coral on 11/19 and didn't even think about the time change. Cool!

Both ships are the same, but keep in mind Thanksgiving. I was on the Emerald last year for Thanksgiving and it was a lovely time. They also start decorating the ship for the holidays.

There is nothing like spending the holdiay without having to cook and clean. Then again it is an American holiday.

Hello Miamitraveler!

Thanks for your message. Guess that Thanksgiving is a major event in the US. So, it might be intersting for us to share that event too.

let's see!
