Lefty1 Posted June 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2008 Read this on cruise critic's home page -- As a result of overturning the restrictions, cruise lines will be able to open casinos and shops after 10 p.m. Allowing ships to open casinos at night is a big deal precisely because most of Bermuda's cruise calls are multi-day commitments. As such, passengers traveling on Grandeur of the Seas, for instance, could only access the casino during sea days. The new policy runs counter to the island nation's otherwise strict gambling laws, which prohibit gaming houses.
cb at sea Posted June 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2008 We saw the story--I know RCI must HATE having to close the casino!!!! Good for them--maybe they won't have to keep raising the "fuel" surcharge if they can take more of the cruiser's entertainment $$$!

Host Kewlguy Posted June 12, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 12, 2008 The cruise lines which really stand to benefit from a change in policy would be the ones that are docked in Bermuda for multiple nights.
PhoenixCruiser Posted June 12, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 12, 2008 Having the casino closed one night while docked in Bermuda actually saved us some $$, LOL :p :p ###
