Carnival Triumph?

We have a Caribbean rez on the Triumph in Nov 2008. My husband and I are in our 50's and wonder if anyone our age sails on this ship and their feelings about it. We have sailed Princess, Celebrity, HAL, and the QM and always have fun. How is the food, staff etc on the Triumph?

I'm 35 and my mom is 57 and we were on the Triumph last Nov. DH (45) and I are sailing on her again this Dec. We've never been on another cruiseline, but I will say the crew on the Triumph was easily the best crew I've ever sailed with. Everyone from the maintenance workers to the casino host were incredibly friendly and memorable. The food was better than the other cruises I've been on also. If you overlook the tiny things (rust etc) that are common on ships of her age, the Triumph is a wonderful ship that is obviously loved by her crew! And as far as your ages, you'll fit right it! Just go in knowing she's a bit older, but still a lovely ship to sail on.

We just got off the Triumph a few weeks ago and there were definitely people your age.

It was a great mix but I thought it was funny how many older people were onboard like over 62 ish

We, too, were on the Triumph a few weeks ago, both of us 50. We had one of our better cruises! A big part of our enjoyment was the ports we visited along with really enjoying the crew on this ship. One of the other factors that made it one of our best parts was timing - no issues whatsoever with kids (we've had some in the past).

 

Yes, the Triumph is a bit older ship, but it didn't matter to us. We had a fantastic time.

My DH and I cruised Triumph in NOv last year and we found most of the crowd to be about our age. All except one couple of our table mates were similar in age.

Hey Kathy! The DH and I are also going to be on the Triumph in November. Make sure you join your roll call, that will tell you any one else here who's going. I think a lot of adults cruise this time of the year, since the kiddos are in school. Unless you're cruising Thanksgiving week, then there may be more kiddos. We are both in our late 30's, my 39th b-day is during the cruise. We are blue collar DINK's, and don't always enjoy having the kiddos around. A friend's parents, who are in their late 50's recommended Carnival to us, and we are not partiers. Neither of us drink, but we do like to have fun, and they thought Carnival would be a good match. They said they enjoyed all the Carnival cruises, but thought Princess was a bit snobby. They have cruised 3 different lines a total of 12 times. I guess I believe them! Just remember, don't go expecting to find problems, enjoy! :D

I sailed the triumph back in March and it was an awesome vacation. I saw a variety of age groups . . my parents were among the 50 group and saw alot of older ones yet. during the newly wed not so newly wed game a couple who were married 50 years were up in the game. . so sweet at that age.. but yes there are a variety of age groups that sail on carnival. You will have a great time. Its going into dry dock later this year so it should be looking nice when you sail. Enjoy the trip!!

The Triumph is one of if not my favorite Carnival ship. We have sailed her 3 times.

I think it depends on what you do onboard. If you spend time by the pool, you'll see a lot of kids. However, the casinos, the afternoon tea, the disco at night, and other places are all adults. I'll miss the Triumph this year!

I think that is a HUGE misconception of Carnival Cruises in general. People think that Carnival is for the 20's and 30's - but in reality there are many more people in their 40's 50's and 60's than the younger generation!

 

We loved the Triumph - both times!

I am 58 and DW is 54. We've sailed on the Triumph 3 times, and are scheduled for our 4th on 8/31/2008. Never felt old or out of place on this ship. During November, older cruisers are usually in the majority. Have fun!:)
