Casual Alaska Cruise

Can anyone suggest a cruise line if I was interested in a casual Alaska cruise? I want to focus on the sights not the attire, but they seem very hard to find.

If attire is all you are concerned about, NCL offers Free Style cruising. I just returned from an Alaska cruise on Princess and I was perfectly comfortable in casual clothes at the dining rooms. I didn't go to the dining room for formal nights. If you go check out the menu before hand you may be able to get roomservice to bring you a dish from the dinner menu.

Any of the cruise lines can be as casual as you want - if you stay out of the formal dining rooms (all the ships have lots of choices for eating well while dressed casually).

CruiseWest cruises are all casual, come as you are as respects to attire. None of the big ship amenties...just up close and personal with an exploration leader(s) on board the entire cruise with multiple presentations of wildlife and what will be seen that day and the following day. As others said, you can always skip the formal nights and have room service, or eat at their other dining establishments on board. I prefer casual myself.

Don't worry about, casual. :) Choose your itinereary you want. Then just plan on dining in the casual buffets, that all ships offer. NCL has freestyle, which is very casual in the main dining room, every night.

If you want casual. The NCL line is definitely the line for you. I've seen cruisers wearing jeans on "formal" night. Actually, if you read their literature NCL doesn't call it "formal" night. They call it "optional formal night".!

Silversea is a luxury cruise line - but I imagine even they have casual dining in the buffet.

I don't know about Silversea but RSSC Mariner is all Country Club Casual with one Informal night this season. Informal is jacket required, tie optional. Of course, if you don't want to carry a jacket for that one night, then you can eat in LaVeranda or from room service.
