infinnity Posted June 16, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2008 Hi. This will be our first cruise with NCL this summer on the Jade. As I have no experience with sailing with NCL I would appreciate any tips from old timers / experienced NCL 'sailers' as to the better parts of the NCL / or 'Jade' experience from their perspectives. This will be our sixth cruise having sailed, P & O, Royal Car, Cunard and Celebrity before. We are big P & O fans but like to experiment! If anyone can list or tip on the good points of NCL or Jade we would heartily appreciate it. As it's just been in operation as the Jade rather than the POH just a few months we can't find out a great deal of details as we normally do about the ships we travel on. It is a Med itinerary btw! theduffys Posted June 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2008 We just did a Med cruise on the Jade. The cruise is very port intensive so not a lot of time is spent on the ship. We loved the freestyle aspect because we never knew when we were getting back on the ship. The food is very good but not gourmet. We never had any problem making reservations for the pay dining rooms and never waited longer then 10 minutes for the open dining rooms. We loved Le Bistro but, would suggest giving Teppenaki a bye (food no better then Bennihanna and the show not as good). The service was great. We did not do shows (too tired) but did enjoy the casino.
