Cruising89143 Posted June 19, 2008 #229 Share Posted June 19, 2008 I dont know if anyone has plugged the numbers in yet, but Oasis OTS will have an almost identical space per passenger ratio as the Conquest Class. Conquest: 110,000 tons / 2974 pax. = 36.98 Gross tons per person. Oasis OTS: 220,000 tons / 6000 pax = 36.67 Gross tons per person. Check your facts. The number that you quoted on the Conquest is for first and second passengers only at 2974 which equals a PSR of 36.98 The number of passengers on the Oasis first and second is only 5400 which brings a PSR of 40.74. A nice difference in space. Carnival Dream will hold 3652 passengers at 130,000 tons and will have a PSR of 35.96. Even tighter on space. This is actually more passengers than on the Freedom of the Seas.
cot427 Posted June 19, 2008 #230 Share Posted June 19, 2008 I love the Aquatheater idea. It is going to be great, another pool area in the aft, and then at night, it doesn't go to waste (not that many people by the pool at night anyway, like after dinner), and you have the shows and entertainment there. Awesome idea, can't go wrong with it.
kingsgirl Posted June 19, 2008 #231 Share Posted June 19, 2008 Sounds/looks cool to me. Why is everyone bumming today about Oasis? Don't like her? Don't read or respond to the threads. I just don't get it sometimes...lol Would love to sail her, but will be awhile. 10 years and counting probably lol

cot427 Posted June 19, 2008 #233 Share Posted June 19, 2008 Nice catch. I didn't notice it, but I didn't click on the empty places either. So I guess they are not including the dining rooms in any of the neighborhoods, the entertainment will probably be lounges, theater, casinos, bars, nightclub. Kids is obvious, along with the sports/pool and spa/fitness. Wonder where the dining rooms will be then?
madge57 Posted June 19, 2008 #234 Share Posted June 19, 2008 WOW!! It looks like a great ship! But as said before I want to experience the reason why you cruise. This is way too much for me. I'm trying to get away from all of that and to be on a ship I would spend too much on it. I'm sure others with enjoy it and I'm glad for that. Good concept but just not for me!!!! cot427 Posted June 19, 2008 #235 Share Posted June 19, 2008 I never thought of it as an actual tatoo parlor, just the temporary ones and airbrush tatoos, which I saw somewhere else as well as an above poster. It's a family area after all, but what I can't get is the psychic.
PhoenixCruiser Posted June 19, 2008 #236 Share Posted June 19, 2008 My sister and I took a "milestone birthday" cruise a few weeks ago on the Enchantment. We decided to get small airbrush tattoos on our ankles the last day to startle our families. The 12 people in line were female and 45+, all doing it for the same reasons (including a delightful 90 year old who said "you're only 90 once!"). When we returned home and showed our 82 year old father our tattoos, and he chuckled and said "I know those aren't real!" I didn't think he even knew that fake tattoos exist. I showed my son and his friend, and they both said, "That's fake. WE KNOW YOU." I guess I am too predictable.......... LOL, hopefully you will be able to "fool" some of your co-workers ;) :p ###

cot427 Posted June 19, 2008 #241 Share Posted June 19, 2008 depends on where it goes and for how long 7 night Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale The First will be eastern caribbean until (by itself until may 2010) featuring St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Nassau, and 3 sea days. Then come May 2010, western caribbean (it will alternate with eastern) to labadee, falmouth jamaica, and cozumel. They are all docked ports. HighlandCruzer Posted June 19, 2008 #242 Share Posted June 19, 2008 So we now have 3 of the 7 neighborhoods announced. The final 4 'hoods to announce are- Entertainment Place Kids and Teens Area Sport and Pool Deck Spa and Fitness Of the remaining four, I think I'm the most anxious to hear about the Pool deck. If any of them are as spectacular as the first 3, I'll be blown away (again!) :)

She was innovative back in the day, but now it's boring. There's not a lot to do.":D I think this may have to be my first RCI cruise. I think the amphitheatre looks great! I'm not a fan of the Boardwalk concept, but who knows! I can't wait to hear more!

HighlandCruzer Posted June 19, 2008 #247 Share Posted June 19, 2008 This is hard because the first season of the ship will be it's most profitable. Given that, my *ahem* best guess would be that the first sailing would easily pull between 1199-1399 for an inside, 1499-1699 for an inside balcony, 1799-2199 for an outside balcony and 2500+ for suites.
