bb24 Posted June 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2008 We are booked pre cruise at the Sheraton Old San Juan, which is right across the street from the pier. Sometimes, right across the street, is actually much further. Is the pier really that close? We have a large group with us and some are elderly and cannot walk very far. Should we anticipate getting a cab or can they walk the distance comfortably? Thanks for your help!!
RayInPR Posted June 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 23, 2008 If you're leaving from Pier 1 or Pier 4 ... then yes ... it is literally across the street. Take a look at our interactive map of San Juan
gonzo1124 Posted June 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 23, 2008 Go out of the hotel, cross the street and walk into the pier. ;)

It looks like from your count down clock you are sailing on a RCCL ship which sails out of the Pan American Pier which in NOT located in Old San Juan. I believe it is about a 10 minute cab ride from Old San Juan.

If you are sailing on the Serenade of the Seas, in all probability, you will be sailing from the Pan Am pier which is NOT in old San Juan. You will need to take a taxi to get there. I am including an excellent aerial map of the area... http://www.langland.org/cruises/sanjuan.asp
bb24 Posted June 23, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted June 23, 2008 Thanks for your quick replies. You are right. We are sailing out of the Pan American Pier. It would have been nice to be within walking distance, but it's not too big of a deal. It's a good thing to know, though! Thanks again!
