Coastaljen Posted July 3, 2008 #1 Posted July 3, 2008 I was looking at possible cruises for December 2009 and found an interesting one on the Ocean Princess. However, I always buy off an internet site, and it isn't on either one of those that I use. I just happened to find it on the Princess website. Is it because it is a smaller ship that it isn't on the large cruise dealer websites? I mean it looked smaller than most when I went to the Princess website. Also, why aren't there roll calls on cruise critic for that ship? Again, is it due to the small size?
KruiserKat Posted July 3, 2008 #2 Posted July 3, 2008 The Ocean Princess is currenly named the Tahitian Princess. It is one of the original Renaissance ships with a capacity of approx 684. Oceania has 3 of these and the Pacific Princess is one as well. Highly Recommended if you like a more intimate ship.

You might try looking on the larger websites for sailing on the Tahitian Princess for the dates you are interested in. Since the name hasn't changed yet, that could be a solution. As for the roll calls, look again under the Tahitian Princess roll call list, many for even 2010 are listed there under both names.
paul929207 Posted July 3, 2008 #4 Posted July 3, 2008 It took a while for Princess to add the Ocean Princess to their site. I presume online TA's will be doing it soon.
Colo Cruiser Posted July 3, 2008 #5 Posted July 3, 2008 Here is a thread from yesterday on the Ocean Princess too...... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=803039
pokey's mom Posted July 3, 2008 #6 Posted July 3, 2008 This is the second Ocean Princess the original was taken out of service in Oct. 2001. I was on the last full cruise the ship did in Alaska. P&O took over the ship to sail the Panama Canal because it was a lighter ship and the tariffs were less.
Coastaljen Posted July 3, 2008 Author #7 Posted July 3, 2008 Thanks. I wondered if there could be a name change, but since it was listed on the website with a description and no mention of the name I was confused.
