Greek50 Posted July 10, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2008 In Athens pre-cruise early August - want to take a Sunday morning ferry to Santorini and spend two nights there. Having difficulty locating legitimate ferry company etc. Anyone have recommendation on ferry logistics? Inexpensive hotels on Santorini? Flying in from Rome late Saturday night. Flying to London Thursday. Hoping to spend Sunday thru Tuesday in Santorini. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Are ferry reservations absolutely a must? Susan-M Posted July 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 10, 2008 Not a direct answer to your questions, but a couple of sites that might be of help: http://www.greektravel.com/greekislands/santorini/ My favourite site for planning land travel: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g189433-i245-Santorini_Cyclades.html http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g189433-i245-k2097994-Ferry_from_Athens_to_Santorini-Santorini_Cyclades.html

numbersix Posted July 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2008 Since you're flying in, what about continuing on, flying to Santorini? I've never taken a ferry to Santorini, but it's a long time...getting to Piraeus, waiting for the ferry, the ferry takes something like 12 or 14 hours...don't know about relative costs, though.
