dzboss1 Posted July 13, 2008 Author #104 Share Posted July 13, 2008 I"M ON!! AND I WAS FIRST!!!! (minus wedding party) It was a breeze to embark...we were on at 11:30. We went right to the Windjammer for lunch. I thought (forgive me Explorer) that it had a better selection of food and was presented in its stations better than the Explorer was. We booked Chops for Tuesday night, and Portofino for Fri night. Got some spa appointments made. We got into the room at 1 to drop off our 5 pieces of carry on luggage and son's guitar, and hubby and I are now strolling. I have to make this quick so hubby doesn't kill me, as I promised him I wouldn't post till after dinner...lol. I am sooooooooooooooooooooo excited. Sugar*Magnolia Posted July 13, 2008 #105 Share Posted July 13, 2008 We "Explorer fans" forgive you. Now Im interested in what was different that made it better? Our past cruise on ExOS 2 weeks ago proved to have even better selection then Decembers on Explorer! Maybe they've changed WJ fleetwide? Cant wait to hear more about Mariner! dzboss1 Posted July 13, 2008 Author #107 Share Posted July 13, 2008 Hi Everyone!! Just finished the "assembly/muster" drill and I came back to the room to post. There is no luggage for us yet, so we will go to eat at 6pm as is. We have a great table by the window on the 4th floor, Top Hat and Tails. The table is for 6 (we requested 10) so we will see who the 2 are at our table soon enough. Didn't get to explore too much...was too busy with stuff. At 3pm we had a pre Meet and Mingle...it was great to get so many of us together. Just met our room steward, Sheldon...what a funny sweet man he is!!! I am so excited!! OK, on to answers...... Diva~~~ haven't been on the Explorer since last July, you are probably correct. (wish u were here!) Tjmick #9 ~~ the Riesling is.... Selbach-Oster 2007 Magroo ~~~ There are 22 hangers in my JS closet....nooooooooooooo wayyyyyyyyyyy is that enough for me!! Mydnite ~~~ we got here at 9:50. We are Diamond, so we got in the front section to board. We were suppose to leave port at 4:30, but the Captain just came on to announce we would leave about 4:45...so any minute now. dzboss1 Posted July 13, 2008 Author #108 Share Posted July 13, 2008 Our M and M is tomorrow at 11:30. Hubby just came back from the concerige...we have Ice Show tickets at 9pm on Wednesday. The all aboard show is at 7:45. (I think I will have to be the casino) at 9:00 is 80s Tv Trivia (I think I will be there for that) There is something different, at least I have never seen it, and that is an 18-20s mix and mingle. This is PERFECT for my son who turns 19 in 2 weeks. That is at 11:30 in the Dragon's Lair.

CruiseAwayWithMe Posted July 13, 2008 #121 Share Posted July 13, 2008 I just got back home from Mariner of the Seas 7/6/08. You guys are lucky to be on the beautiful Mariner now. I was on this morning. We got off about 7:15 AM. We were waiting for 45 minutes to get off. The concierge Allen Fajado is a nice guy. He will help you out any way he can. :) Still getting over my post cruise depression. :( But, we booked another cruise for March 1st on Celebrity Solstice. That helps with the PCD. Mark O Posted July 14, 2008 #124 Share Posted July 14, 2008 Thanks for taking time out of your cruise to post and let us all be part of your experience. I am cruising on Mariner on 8/3. A couple of requests from me: (1) if possible, get the names of the figure skaters in the show; (2) tell us where exactly you dock in St Thomas ; (3) a picture of the riesling wine list (by the bottle) with prices. Thanks, and have a really great time.
