T739 Posted July 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2008 My family is interested in taking the holiday cruise on the Rotterdam, which includes both Chrsitmas and New Years. I noticed that the prices are significantly higher than similar cruises on some of the other HAL ships. Should I expect higher quality and service on this ship for the money? Also, has anyone ever been able to receive TV broadcasts of college bowl games or NFL playoff games on HAL during this time?
KKMKEM Posted July 13, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2008 We are already booked on that cruise. We did it last year, too. The price is higher because so many people can only travel for those two weeks. There will be lots of kids. It will be a great cruise. The football games are shown on the ship. rumrum Posted August 21, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2008 Were there any special holiday features on the cruise? How many formal nights? Did most children (like ages 8-12) wear formal attire to dinner on formal nights? Were there cooking classes for children? We are booked on that cruise this year so any more details would be appreciated. Thanks!!
longtimecruiser Posted August 21, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 21, 2008 I have been on lots of Holiday cruises including the Rotterdam. That happens to be my favorite ship. Christmas and New Year's combined is the best. Those cruises are always higher. In the past, Hal used to give Christmas gifts to the kids and adults. That was one reason for higher price. Now, they only give gifts to the kids and they are cheap nothings. I think the price is higher due to the time of year. Christmas/New Year cruises are great. Hope you and your family have some wonderful memories as I do. Adele
