Carnival Splendor - which side of ship is best?

We have a balcony stateroom for a Splendor Mex. Riviera cruise next April, and wonder which is the most desirable side for views, etc.? I am guessing starboard, based on the itinerary (Long Beach all the way down to Puerto Vallarta, then stopping at other ports on the return), because we will face out to sea during the long ride down, then face the ports/land as we cruise back up. However, this is my first cruise so I really have no idea!

You dont base your cabin choice on what way the ship will be facing when you come into a port. It will vary depending ont he captain. Some times it will pull in and others it will back in.

 

Picking an aft cabin-- you wont have to worry about being on the wrong side
